Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about symbolic guardianship, charitable donations, certificates, and verification.

What is a Migdal Symbolic Guardianship?

A Guardianship of Magdala is a symbolic, charitable connection between you and the Migdal archaeological site in Israel — the birthplace of Mary Magdalene. You receive a physical Certificate of Guardianship bearing your name and a unique identifier, permanently registered in the Guardians of Magdala Registry. It is a spiritual commemorative connection, not a real estate purchase.

Does this mean I own land in Israel?

No. Guardianship does not convey legal title, ownership, or any real property rights under Israeli law. It is a symbolic custodial connection — a way of saying: "This sacred ground matters to me, and I am taking personal responsibility for its protection."

Is my payment a charitable donation?

Yes. Your USD $50 payment is a charitable donation to support land stewardship, certificate fulfilment, and the charitable mission of the issuing religious society.

Can I get a refund?

As a charitable donation, guardianship payments are generally non-refundable. However, we will refund duplicate charges in full. Within 30 days, you may request a one-time name correction at a cost of $5.00.

Can I purchase a guardianship as a gift?

Yes. When you make your donation, select "This is a gift" and enter the recipient's full name. The certificate will be issued in their name.

How can I verify my guardianship?

Scan the QR code on your certificate, or visit guardiansofmagdala.org/verify and enter your unique identifier. No login is required.
